The Prudential Authority hereby issues the Standard and Guidance Notice on public disclosures for insurers for informal consultation in terms of S 101 of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 2017 (Act No. 9 of 2017). In terms of S 45 of the Insurance Act Insurance Act, 2017 (Act 18 of 2017), the Standard sets out key principles and general requirements for public disclosures, with the objective of promoting transparency, market discipline and stakeholder confidence. The Standard prescribes minimum information that insurers are required to publicly disclose, including the manner and frequency of such disclosures.
