Revised gross domestic product estimates
On 29 October 2026, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) published revised gross domestic product (GDP) estimates covering the first quarter of 2018 to the second quarter of 2026. These comprise revised benchmarked estimates of nominal GDP at current prices and rebased real (or volume) GDP at constant 2022 prices.
Forthcoming South African Reserve Bank releases and data availability
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) will release the current account of the balance of payments for the third quarter of 2026 on 3 December 2026. The release will reflect the historical revised statistics and ratios to GDP as published by Stats SA.
Balanced national accounts statistics for the production, expenditure and income measures covering the first quarter of 2018 to the third quarter of 2026 will beavailable on the SARB website with the release of the December 2026 edition of the Quarterly Bulletin on 15 December 2026. Statistics from 1946 to 2017 will only be made available in 2027, dependant on the publication of the complete set of backcasted series by Stats SA.
