On Wednesday, 25 November the South African Reserve Bank (the Bank) will be hosting its inaugural financial stability conference titled ‘Financial Stability: Developments, Challenges and Policy Responses’. The conference aims to create a dialogue between South African and global policymakers and experts on important policy issues of relevance to the Bank. The emphasis of the conference will be on the new challenges affecting financial stability as the legacies of the global financial crisis recede. Presenters who have confirmed their attendance include William Nelson (Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System), Atif Mian (Princeton University) and Francis Breeden (Queen Mary University of London) as well as Greg Farrell (South African Reserve Bank).
