In April 2006 the National Payment System Framework and Strategy - Vision 2010 document (Vision 2010) was published by the South African Reserve Bank (the Bank).  Since the publication of this document, major strategic objectives envisaged in the Vision 2010 have been implemented and achieved.Towards the latter half of 2009, the Bank conducted extensive research and consulted with various National Payment System (NPS) stakeholders relating to specific NPS related issues.  Culminating from this process, the Bank has published an updated National Payment System Framework and Strategy document referred to as the National Payment System Framework and Strategy - Vision 2015 (Vision 2015).​
