Market participants are hereby advised that the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) will be closed for trade, trade reporting and settlement on the following official public holidays: Friday, 16 December 2016;Monday, 26 December 2016;Tuesday, 27 December 2016; andMonday, 2 January 2017The SARB’s open-market and foreign-exchange transactions have been scheduled to mature and settle on official business days during December 2016 and January 2017. No settlement will take place during the days mentioned above, via the South African Multiple Options Settlement (SAMOS) system. The SARB’s gold and foreign-exchange desks will close at 12:00 on 23 and 30 December 2016. Domestic operations will, however, be conducted as usual, with the position windows closing at 16:55 on both days.
