South African Reserve Bank and Bundesbank sign cooperation agreementThe South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and the Deutsche Bundesbank (Bundesbank) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing collaboration between the two central banks. This will be done through joint research and project cooperation on central banking issues.The agreement signed today on the sidelines of the G20 meetings in Shanghai, forms part of an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two central banks signed in 2015, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The MoU provides a framework for regular exchange of information, policy dialogue and technical cooperation between the two central banks.
