The President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma, has advised the Governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), Lesetja Kganyago of his decision to appoint Mr Kuben Naidoo as Deputy Governor of the SARB, for a period of five years. The appointment is effective from 1 April 2015.Mr Naidoo is currently an advisor to the Governor of the SARB and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee. He also served as the acting head of the secretariat for the National Planning Commission in the fourth administration. Prior to that, Mr Naidoo worked as Deputy Director-General responsible for the Budget Office at the National Treasury. Mr Naidoo holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Birmingham, in the UK.The Board of Directors, Management and staff of the SARB welcome Mr Naidoo’s appointment and will afford him the necessary support during his term of office.Issued by: Hlengani MathebulaHead: Group Strategy and Communications+27 12 313 4210+27 82 448 9219
