The Minister of Finance, Mr Pravin Gordhan, has advised the Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, Ms Gill Marcus, thatthe President of the Republic, Mr Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma, has reappointed Mr Aaron Daniel Mminele as Deputy Governor for a period of five years. The re-appointment is effective from 1 July 2014. Mr Mminele was first appointed as Deputy Governor in July 2009 for a period of five years. In accordance with section 4(1)(a), read with section 5(1)(a)of the South African Reserve Bank Act, Act 90 of 1989, the Governor and three deputy governors of the South African Reserve Bank are appointed by the President after consultation with the Minister of Finance and the Board of Directors of the South African Reserve Bank.The Governor and staff of the South African Reserve Bank welcome this timeous reappointment of Mr Mminele for a second five-year of office, which will run from 1 July 2014 until 30 June 2019.We congratulate Mr Mminele and are very pleased to welcome him back into the fold.Issued by: Hlengani MathebulaHead: Group Strategy and CommunicationsTel: +27 12 313 4210Cell: +27 82 448 9219
