Monetary Policy Committee meeting dates confirmed The South African Reserve Bank today confirmed the dates of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meetings for this year. The MPC will meet on 19 & 20 March, 11 & 12 June, 17 & 18 September and 26 & 27 November. A statement will be issued at the conclusion of each MPC meeting. The Monetary Policy Committee meets once a quarter to decide on the monetary policy stance. The eight-member Committee comprises the Governor, Mr Tito Mboweni, and the deputy governors, Ms Gill Marcus, Dr XP Guma and Mr Ian Plenderleith, Dr Ernie van der Merwe, chief economist and head of research, Mr Bernie de Jager, senior deputy chief economist, Mr Brian Kahn, deputy chief economist and head of the Monetary Policy Research Unit and Mr Bertus van Zyl, advisor to the governors.
