​South Africa’s positive net international investment position (IIP) increased significantly from a revised R1 604 billion at the end of March 2020 to R2 022 billion in June. The increase in the positive net IIP reflected a substantial increase in foreign assets, while foreign liabilities recorded a much smaller increase.
