The Domestic Market Operations Section is responsible for the conducting of all domestic market operations associated with the Bank's responsibility for monetary policy implementation. These operations entail all the liquidity providing and liquidity draining operations conducted with banking counterparties.
Through its monetary policy operations, the Bank also endeavours to promote financial stability by managing the liquidity needs of the banking sector as a whole. Furthermore, through the Bank's activities in the market and through its general market conduct, it also contributes to the development and efficient functioning of the financial markets in general and in particular the interbank market.
