Question and answer session

In the question and answer session the judges will ask team members questions to see how they think.
  • If team members are faced with a question to which they do not immediately know the answer, they should show how they might logically tackle it. They could start by telling the judges what they do know. If they think out loud, the judges can help lead them in the right direction.

  • Team members must remember that the judges are not just interested in economic theory in isolation. It is good to use what learners have learnt in their Economics class or through participating in the MPC Challenge as a basis for thinking through or structuring their answers. However, they can also apply other sources of knowledge: what they have read in the paper in the morning, what they saw in the news or what they have seen around them where they live.

  • The judges are not looking for an individual winner but rather for the best team. So teams need to make sure everyone gets a chance to contribute to the discussion.
