The exchange control manual was first issued by the Bank during October 1990 to assist Authorised Dealers in foreign exchange and Authorised Dealers in foreign exchange with limited authority, their customers and other interested parties, by providing a general understanding of the purpose, scope and operation of the exchange control system in the Republic and in the Common Monetary Area.
The exchange control manual merely serves as a general guideline and does not replace or supersede the Exchange Control Regulations, Orders and Rules, nor the norms and policies as applied by the Financial Surveillance Department from time to time.
The Financial Surveillance Department continuously updates the exchange control manual to reflect current policies and norms.
