SARB Academy

The South African Reserve Bank Academy was established with effect from 1 April 2014, as a separate department within the Bank. The SARB College and the Learning and Development Division in the Human Resources Department have been subsumed into this new department and all staff from both departments absorbed into the new SARB Academy.
The SARB Academy has five divisions. These include three schools: the School for Central Banking, the School for Operations, the School for Leadership and two units: Skills Planning and Shared Services. These functions will facilitate the provision of coordinated needs based learning and development interventions in support of the Multiple Career Paths strategy of the Bank which also came into effect as of 1 April 2014. As such, all learning interventions mainly focus on addressing priority training needs of internal Bank Departments.
